Boiler sewage waste heat recovery can be effective

Daqing Petrochemical Thermal Power Plant operates continuously, discharging pollutants 24/7 to maintain the cleanliness of boiler surfaces and ensure high-quality boiler water. As a result, the temperature of the effluent released into the cooling pool often reaches nearly 100°C, leading to significant thermal energy loss. To address this issue, the plant's technical team conducted multiple discussions and proposed an innovative solution: utilizing the heat from boiler waste water to preheat the chemical demineralized water. This was achieved by redirecting the flow from the furnace side of the sewage discharge expansion container inlet header to a newly installed heat exchanger, thereby improving the temperature of the water sent to the steam turbines. After implementing the project, the temperature of the demineralized water increased from 27°C to 45°C, while the temperature of the continuous boiler effluent dropped from 110°C to 40°C. This not only significantly reduced energy consumption but also minimized potential safety risks associated with high-temperature discharges. The project marked a major step forward in optimizing energy use and environmental protection at the plant, demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating waste heat recovery into existing systems. It also highlighted the importance of continuous innovation and improvement in industrial operations.
