The first domestic BPRT fan was put into use in Delong Steel
Recently, the BPRT (Blast Furnace Pressure Recovery Turbine) coaxial unit was successfully implemented at the 6th blast furnace of Deer Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Following over a month of operation, the system has achieved an average electricity saving of 32 kWh per ton of iron produced, with an overall power saving rate reaching 31.73%. This marks a significant milestone as the first BPRT unit in the world, and the first application of its kind in China by Delong.
The BPRT system is a fully integrated energy recovery solution that combines a gas turbine and an electric motor to generate power from the pressure and thermal energy of the blast furnace top gas. By installing this advanced unit, not only is the energy previously lost through the pressure reduction valve group now being recovered, but it also helps reduce noise in the gas transmission network. Additionally, the system enables intelligent control of key components such as the blast furnace top pressure, axial flow fan, and gas turbine, leading to improved smelting efficiency and production output.
This innovative technology not only enhances energy utilization but also contributes to lower emissions, supporting more sustainable industrial operations.
