Chemical standardization will improve four major systems

At the 2007 National Conference on Chemical Standardization and Quality Inspection, held in Xi'an from November 7 to 8, it was revealed that future efforts in chemical standardization will prioritize safety, health, and environmental protection. The conference emphasized the development of four major standards systems, alongside the creation of basic guidelines for low-toxic, high-efficiency pesticides, new types of chemical fertilizers, pollution-reducing coatings, tire manufacturing, and rubber processing machinery with enhanced safety and environmental standards. Meng Quansheng, vice president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, highlighted that the construction of these four key systems includes the Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Standard System. In September of this year, the association proposed 144 revised standards, focusing on energy-saving and emission-reduction products, clean production, water usage quotas, and energy consumption benchmarks. Additionally, the Consumer Product Safety Standards System is under development. The association is working on revising 41 standards related to paints, adhesives, dyes, and food safety as part of the National Standards Committee's framework. It also contributed to the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan for Development of Food Standardization," proposing the establishment or revision of 113 food additive standards. In terms of testing methods, the association has organized 46 standard revisions, converted 32 REACH-related testing methods, and developed six PFOS testing procedures. These efforts reflect a growing commitment to improving quality control and regulatory compliance in the chemical sector. Over recent years, China’s chemical standardization has seen significant progress. Currently, there are 59 technical committees dedicated to standardization in the chemical industry, including 50 national-level committees. A total of over 4,000 standards have been established, comprising nearly 2,000 national standards and 2,200 industry-specific ones. Since 2005, the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association has approved 1,718 chemical standard projects, including 1,107 national and 611 industry-level initiatives. Furthermore, the association has reviewed and approved 475 chemical industry standards, reinforcing its role in shaping the future of the sector through rigorous and up-to-date regulation.

H-Beam

H-shaped steel is an economical cross-section high-efficiency section with more optimized cross-sectional area distribution and a more reasonable strength-to-weight ratio. It is named because its cross-section is the same as the English letter "H". Since all parts of the H-shaped steel are arranged at right angles, the H-shaped steel has the advantages of strong bending resistance in all directions, simple construction, cost saving and light structural weight, and has been widely used.
H-shaped steel is a widely used profile in steel structure buildings today, and it has many differences compared with I-shaped steel. The first is the flange, and second, the inner surface of the flange has no inclination, and the upper and lower surfaces are parallel. The cross-sectional properties of H-beams are significantly better than traditional I-beams, channel steels and angle steels.
The two outer and inner sides of the H-shaped steel have no slope and are straight. This makes the welding and splicing of H-beams easier than I-beams, and has better mechanical properties per unit weight, which can save a lot of materials and construction time. The section of the I-Beam is well subjected to vertical pressure and resistant to tension, but the section size cannot resist torsion because the wing plate is too narrow. H steel is the opposite, both have their own advantages and disadvantages.
