The Denso Group has announced that it will cooperate with China’s Tongji University and will conduct field tests on the wireless communication and traffic control system (V2X technology) on the road in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province, China from March 22 this year. Denso has conducted similar field tests in Japan, the United States, and Europe.

Denso's V2X technology enables emergency vehicles (such as ambulances and fire engines, etc.) to communicate wirelessly with the surrounding vehicles and the roadside infrastructure. When an emergency car approaches, the V2X technology can change the traffic lights at the intersection and alert the surrounding vehicles to change lanes, thereby enabling emergency vehicles to prioritize and prevent accidents.

Since 2003, Denso has started to develop V2X technology. Yasushi Yamanaka, executive director of Denso Group Engineering R&D Center, said that with the increase of vehicles, traffic congestion and traffic safety have become two major problems in China, and these two issues are particularly evident in large cities. Denso's V2X technology enables wireless communication between vehicles and vehicles and between vehicles and road infrastructure, or it will help improve the road conditions in China.
