As an important measure of food safety risk management, Shanghai is establishing a monitoring network covering the whole food chain from the field to the table within the city. Up to now, 150 food safety risk monitoring points have been built.

The reporter learned from the Shanghai Food and Drug Supervision Department on March 14 that the monitoring network covers all links such as planting and breeding of agricultural products, food production and processing, and circulation of consumption. There are currently a total of 150 monitoring sites covering 29 major categories and 94 sub-categories. Among them, foods that are closely related to people’s lives and have relatively high risks are listed as key monitoring targets, including rice, flour, edible oil, vegetables, poultry eggs, livestock and poultry meat, dairy products, etc., with high density once a month. monitor.

According to the latest risk monitoring results, since March 2011, Shanghai's five major categories of rice, flour, edible oil, poultry, and dairy products have passed the 100% pass rate; the pass rate of livestock and poultry meat has been 97.6%. The main reason for the failure was that traces of veterinary drugs were detected in small quantities in individual samples; the pass rate of vegetables was 96.9%. The main reason for the failure was excessive pesticide residues.

It is reported that in the next few years, Shanghai will further expand the coverage of food safety risk monitoring networks, strengthen monitoring efforts, and provide scientific basis for carrying out food safety risk assessments and issuing food safety warnings.
