On April 27 and 28, the 2008 China (Wuxi) Auto Parts Industry Technology Achievement Exhibition will take place at Wuxi Guangyi Auto Parts City. When asked about the choice of Wuxi as the host city for this year’s event, an official from the Municipal Economic and Trade Commission highlighted the city's remarkable progress in building a robust automotive industry ecosystem. Key auto parts manufacturers have emerged as major players, showcasing strong competitive advantages.
According to statistics, in 2007, Wuxi was home to over 1,000 automobile and auto parts companies, with 202 large-scale enterprises in the sector achieving an output value of 45.74 billion yuan and generating main business revenue of 45.11 billion yuan—up by 28.7% and 29.1%, respectively. The total assets of the automotive industry in Wuxi exceeded 44 billion yuan that year. The city has developed two key industrial bases: the "National Torch Plan Wuxi New District Automotive Electronics and Components Industry Base" and the "Jiangsu Auto Parts Industrial Base" in Huishan District. These developments have helped Wuxi establish a comprehensive automotive industry system covering vehicle manufacturing, engines, and related components.
Wuxi is also home to several influential automotive companies, such as Nankai Xinyatu, FAW Xichai, and FAW Bus (Wuxi). Its leading auto parts manufacturers are recognized nationally for their scale, product quality, market share, innovation capabilities, and profitability. For example, Jixing Auto Parts Co., Ltd. is the largest domestic producer of top liner lining, holding 25% of the market share. Additionally, Wuxi-based companies maintain long-term partnerships with over 30 major automakers, including SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, GAC, BAIC, Volkswagen, General Motors, and Ford.
The city’s strong consumer market further supports the growth of the automotive industry. In 2007, total car sales reached 12.39 billion yuan, with 81,464 new vehicles sold. Sales grew by 21.25% in 2006 and 10.83% in 2007. With more than 600,000 registered vehicles, Wuxi ranks among the highest in Jiangsu Province, driving a massive aftermarket demand estimated at 30 billion yuan.
Wuxi’s auto parts market is equally vibrant. Major markets like Guangyi and Xibei Auto Parts City play a central role. Guangyi Auto Parts City, established in 1994, has become one of the most prominent regional auto parts markets in the Yangtze River Delta, with an annual turnover of 2 billion yuan and a wide distribution network covering Suzhou, Wuxi, and the Suzhong area. It holds a top-three position in East China’s auto parts market.
Air Compressor Oils
Air compressor oil can be defined as the oil used in the air compressor is a specialized lubricant that is used to prevent untimely wear and tear of the machine. Air compressor oils are available in two variants – natural and synthetic, and they differ in terms of viscosity, and other additives. The most significant difference between air compressor oil and motor oil is that the oil used in air compressors contains far less amount of sulfur and carbon and is completely devoid of any kinds of detergents, as opposed to motor oil.
Air compressor oils should match the type and viscosity (thickness) recommended by the air compressor's manufacturer. Oil compatibility ensures the proper operation of the air compressor and may be important for maintenance and warranty purposes.
