In what is the most extensive photo gallery ever added to the site, a rich historical collection of the Addison Fire District's equipment and stations has been made available. This new addition can be accessed through the “Historic Gallery†button on each of the current station pages. The gallery showcases a wide range of fire apparatus, including trucks dating back to the 1950s, as well as staff cars and ambulances. These images were generously contributed by Bill Friedrich and Larry Shapiro, offering a unique glimpse into the district’s past.
The contrast between the 1965 Marion pumper serving Squad 107 and the 1994 Pierce Lance that later replaced it is striking. The evolution in design, technology, and functionality highlights how far the department has come over the decades.
Another notable piece in the collection is the 1961 GMC Howe pumper assigned to Squad 108. This vehicle represents an earlier era of firefighting, when equipment was more rugged and built for durability.
