Chicago firefighters responded to a serious fire at 525 W. Armitage yesterday, just a short distance from Engine 22's station. Upon arrival, they discovered intense flames on the second and third floors of a three-story building that was in the middle of renovation. The incident was escalated to a 2-11 alarm, bringing in additional fire companies to manage the situation. Tragically, the building suffered a total collapse during the firefighting efforts.
