Highlight 1: Eliminate the long-term trouble of turbine pressure pulsation. The diameter of the Three Gorges Left Bank Turbine Runner is more than 10 meters. It is the largest Francis turbine in the world today. Due to flood control requirements, the unit's operating head is from 61 to 113 meters, the maximum head and rated head ratio are large, and the operating conditions are complicated. The turbine vibrates at a certain power.

This is a worldwide problem.
The bidding of the right bank unit is an irrelevant test that can be done by Harbin Electric. Since 1997, Harbin has carried out secondary development and innovation on the basis of introducing technology and digesting and absorbing foreign company fluid calculation software. It has mastered the key core technologies developed by the world's mixed-flow hydropower units and has a foothold in China. Since 2000, a tough battle on the right-hand crew has started. In terms of improving the hydraulic stability of the turbine of the Three Gorges Power Station, it has achieved a major breakthrough that has been plaguing the domestic and international hydropower industry. The self-developed Three Gorges right bank runner model has better overall performance than the left bank introduction unit, eliminating the phenomenon of “pressure pulsation”.
On December 25, 2003, four Chinese and foreign bidders tested the stability test, high efficiency, cavitation coefficient, critical cavitation coefficient, and anti-fatigue of the runner after three months of comparison test with the model test device. The performance exceeded the left bank unit, which not only met the requirements of the tender, but also surpassed the “foreign” teacher model, and enabled Harbin Motor to finally win the historic contract of designing and manufacturing four 700,000 kW hydropower units on the right bank of the Three Gorges. . A batch of new products with independent intellectual property rights were successfully developed by Harbin Electric. In the mixed flow unit products, following the Three Gorges right bank mixed flow unit, Harbin Electric has won orders for a large number of giant hydroelectric generating units such as Longtan, Xiaowan, Laxiwa, Goupitan and Jinping I. For a long time, the monopoly position of foreign companies in the high-end hydroelectric generating unit market of 500,000 to 700,000 kilowatts has promoted the localization of giant hydropower units and laid a solid technical foundation for the domesticization of a large number of large-scale units to be started in China. .

Highlight 2: The large air-cooled unit has reached the world's super-class level. In the design of the unit, Harbin Electric has not only some technical indicators surpassed the “foreign” teacher. The generator changed from water cooling to air cooling, and it has been proved by practice that it has surpassed the "foreign" teacher.
Harbin Electric has adopted independent innovation and the world's first air-cooling design and manufacturing technology on the four 700,000-kilowatt hydroelectric generating units on the right bank to ensure the economic and safe operation of the Three Gorges Power Station. Of the 26 hydroelectric generating units on the left and right banks of the Three Gorges, only four units manufactured by Harbin Electric are air-cooled.
The hydro-generator unit with air-cooling technology has obvious features such as simple structure, reliable operation, simple maintenance and low operating cost. The largest unit in the world using this technology is less than 600,000 kilowatts at the Guli Power Station and the Churchill Falls Power Station. The domestically operated power station units are only 550,000 kilowatts, while the Three Gorges power station is 700,000 kilowatts.
Does it use air cooling technology? In the past, as long as the units of more than 600,000 kilowatts were using water-cooled design and manufacturing technology, how to challenge this technology limit?
Harbin people broke the technical limit of air-cooling design according to the "per-pole capacity" design, and proposed their own new design ideas: whether it is water-cooled or air-cooled, the most fundamental thing is to control the unit temperature, pay more attention to generator voltage and stator winding The number of channels, the matching of the slot current and the control of the thermal load and the structural optimization design, as well as the good ventilation system. Applying this design concept, nearly 30 units of the Three Gorges Right Bank, Longtan and Lavasi have been successfully designed with air cooling technology. The use of this unique technology in the world has broken the monopoly of the world's manufacturing giants and greatly reduced the manufacturing costs of the Three Gorges Power Station.
The Three Gorges unit has a large overall size and complex structure, which is difficult to design, manufacture and install. In particular, the unit ventilation and cooling uses a closed self-circulating dual path to the end return air cooling system. According to the similar principle, Harbin designed and manufactured the ventilation model of the Three Gorges generator, and carried out a real machine simulation test. At the same time, the quality of the ventilation system was analyzed through the test results, and the results of the total air volume and air volume distribution of the generator were derived.
