For a long time, the development of China's mold industry is uneven in its geographical distribution. The development of the southeast coastal areas is faster than that of the central and western regions. The development of the south is faster than that of the north. The areas with the most concentrated mold production are in the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta. The output value accounts for more than two-thirds of the national output value.

The annual import and export scale of China's mold industry has reached 4 billion U.S. dollars, of which the level of imports and exports are equivalent, both are about 2 billion U.S. dollars. Luo Baihui, head of the International Mould and Plastic Suppliers Association, said that the mold industry is not only large in scale, but also richer in grade and brighter in development.

China's mold industry is expanding from the more developed Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta region to the interior and north. There are some new areas where the mold production is concentrated in the industrial layout. There are Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Changsha, Chengdu-Chongqing, Wuhan, Jizhong, etc. In the area, the development of mold collection has become a new feature, and the mold park (city, agglomeration, etc.) has continued to emerge. In the eastern region, Kunshan and Wuxi have already formed production bases for precision mold industry clusters; production bases for Botou and Wuhu automobile mold industry clusters; and production bases for large and precision mold industry clusters in Ningbo, Huangyan, Shenzhen, and Dongguan.

A large number of private leading enterprises in the mold industry have emerged in China. The rise of private mold companies is a major adjustment in the overall mold industry structure in China. Private mold companies have dominated the entire mold market, accelerating the rapid development of the mold industry. . Luo Baihui said that the mold industry is widely viewed in China. In recent years, China's mold industry has accelerated the pace of system reform and mechanism conversion, and the industrial structure has become more and more reasonable, mainly manifested in the development speed of large-scale, sophisticated, complex, long-life mold standard parts higher than the industry. The overall development rate; the proportion of plastic molds and die-casting molds has increased; the number and capability of professional mold manufacturers facing the market have increased rapidly; with the continuous deepening of the economic system reform, the “three foreign capitals” and private enterprises have developed rapidly.

There are two mold industry parks in Wuhu and Ruiye Auto Mould Concentration Zone. The three parks (area) gather together nearly 100 Chinese and foreign auto mold enterprises. As of December 2009, Wuhu had 183 die and mold enterprises, 10 above the scale, and the die output value was 2.28 billion yuan, including 72 economic and technological development zones with an output value of 1.12 billion yuan; 47 bridge development zones with an output value of 487 million yuan; There are 18 technology development zones with an output value of 210 million yuan. There are 76 large-scale gantry machining centers, 16 large-scale three-coordinate machining centers, and nearly 100 hydraulic injection molding machines and injection molding machines. With a variety of vertical machining centers, EDM, wire cutting, general machine tools, injection molding and stamping, production lines, large and small machine tools (sets), with the development of the mold industry, equipment levels have been further improved.
