This standard was approved by November 10, 1993 the Ministry of People's Republic of China metallurgical industry, implemented July 1, 1994.
1. Main content and scope of application This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging, storage and transportation, signs and quality certificates of electrolytic manganese.
This standard is applicable to electrolytic manganese metal used for smelting special steel and non-ferrous alloys as manganese element additives.

3. Variety and technical requirements 1. Grades and chemical composition 1) Electrolytic manganese metal is divided into three grades according to the content of manganese and impurities, and its chemical composition should meet the requirements of Table 2.

2) When the demand side has special requirements for chemical composition, it may be separately agreed by the supplier and the buyer.
2. Physical state 1) Electrolytic manganese is supplied in sheet or powder form, and its particle size range and allowable deviation shall comply with the requirements of Table 3.

2) Appearance quality Electrolytic manganese metal allows blackening, and foreign inclusions are not allowed in the product.
4. Test method (1) Sampling, the sample for chemical analysis is carried out according to GB4010.
(2) Sample preparation, and preparation of samples for chemical analysis are carried out in accordance with the methods specified below.
Electrolytic metal manganese sample preparation method: all 0.5g sample is broken to 5mm or less, and 250g is shredded by a quarter method in a stainless steel plate, crushed to less than 1mm, and then retracted by a quartering method to 60g, in an agate mortar. Grinding, all passed through a 0.149 mm mesh, divided into two parts, one for analysis and one for storage.
(3) The chemical analysis method is carried out according to GB8654.1~8654.11.
(4) The method for measuring the particle size of manganese powder is carried out according to GB/T1480.
5. Packaging, storage and transportation, signs and quality certificates (1) The products are packed in iron drums with a net weight of 50kg, 100kg or 200kg per drum. The sheet-shaped electrolytic manganese metal is packaged in a PVC plastic bag, and the powdered electrolytic manganese metal is vacuum-packed in an aluminum composite film-lined plastic bag.
(2) Storage and transportation 1Electrical transportation of manganese metal into the warehouse should be stored indoors in separate grades and batch numbers to avoid contact with chemicals such as acids and alkalis to avoid moisture.
2 When the electrolytic manganese is shipped, the caravan should be used. If it is stored in open air or when it is shipped in a gondola, it should be covered with a cloth to prevent water seepage.
(3) Mark and quality certificate The mark and quality certificate shall comply with the provisions of GB3650.
3. Electrolytic Manganese Industry Standard promulgated in 2003 (YB/T051-2003)
In 2003, the metallurgical industry standard of 1993 was revised again (see Table 4). Each revision of the standard indicates that the quality of China's electrolytic manganese has reached a new level.
