One of the highlights of the auto show: luxury car - luxury sports car leader
Mercedes-Benz continues to showcase its rich heritage at the Beijing International Auto Show, with a grand exhibition in Hall 5 spanning 3,400 square meters and featuring 21 models. This event marks Mercedes-Benz’s largest international display of the year, following its recent participation in the Frankfurt Motor Show. The lineup includes familiar luxury vehicles like the S-Class, the upcoming C and E-Class, as well as the AMG series, which is making its debut in front of Chinese audiences. Additionally, the show features the iconic Maybach, a super-luxury model that has returned after more than six decades, re-establishing itself as a symbol of ultimate elegance. The Maybach brand, now backed by Mercedes-Benz's advanced technology, made its domestic debut on April 30, with two customers already confirmed by June 9. Another highlight is the SLR McLaren and its predecessor, the 300 SL, both of which have a storied past. The 300 SL, known for its distinctive gullwing doors and exceptional performance, was a landmark in automotive history, while the SLR combines classic design with cutting-edge technology from the McLaren-Mercedes F1 racing program.
BMW also made a strong impression at the show, presenting an extensive lineup that included 14 BMW cars, four MINI models, five BMW motorcycles, and F1 simulators. The 645Ci exemplifies BMW’s commitment to producing high-end, two-door sports cars, continuing a long-standing tradition. The 6 Series, with its modern yet classic design, represents a new era of luxury coupés. The X3 and X5 combine the comfort of premium vehicles with the ruggedness of SUVs, offering a new level of luxury in four-wheel drive. The 760Li, equipped with a V12 direct-injection engine, stands as the pinnacle of BMW’s engineering, delivering unmatched power and sophistication.
Cadillac impressed with its bold presence, showcasing upcoming models such as the CTS, SRX, and XLR, along with the Saab 9-3 and its convertible version. The Cadillac Sixteen concept car, a 5.6-meter-long, ultra-luxury vehicle, generated significant attention. Known for its massive 16-cylinder engine capable of over 1,000 horsepower, the Sixteen highlights Cadillac’s ambition to compete at the top of the luxury market.
Audi brought three groundbreaking concept cars to the show, each representing the future of automotive innovation. The Le Mans quattro, Nuvolari quattro, and Pikes Peak quattro reflect Audi’s vision of combining performance, technology, and design. These concepts set a new benchmark for future vehicles, emphasizing Audi’s commitment to sportiness and technological leadership. The Audi A8 L and A4 3.0 quattro were also highlighted, alongside the introduction of Lamborghini to the Chinese market.
