The technical conditions of the grinding operation refer to the particle size, grindability, moisture and temperature of the grinding material and the quality requirements of the product. These are the basis for selecting the grinding process, grinding equipment and management.

Grain size of the milled material

The particle size of the milled material has a great influence on the quality of the rod mill and the power consumption. The particle size is small. When the feeding is uniform, it is easy to grind, and the rod mill has high production quality and low power consumption. On the contrary, the grain size of the grinding material is large, the feeding is uneven, the grinding is difficult, the production quality of the rod mill is low, and the power consumption is also large. Therefore, the smaller the particle size of the milled material, the better the quality index is to improve the mill output, but the particle size of the milled material will be limited by the conditions of the mill equipment.

In large and medium-sized cement plants, it is difficult to crush a large amount of limestone to a small particle size (such as 10 mm or less) under current equipment conditions. Now, the grain size of different materials can only be controlled in the following Within the scope:

Clinker, less than 30 mm;

Limestone, less than 25 mm;

Gypsum , less than 50 mm;

Mixed material, less than 30 mm.

For mills with a barrel mill inner diameter of less than 1.5 m, the particle size of the milled material can be controlled to be less than 10 to 15 mm due to the small size and impact capability of the mill body.
