The images of the equipment stationed at Cicero Station 3 on 34th Street have recently been refreshed. During a recent visit to the area, a group of photographers captured some stunning photos of the tower ladder, Engine 3, and the spare truck on a bright, sunny day. The team included Bill Friedrich, George Reichart, Don Feipel, Jeff Schielkie, Steve Redick, Hank Sajovic, and Larry Shapiro. Among the highlights from their trip is a crisp shot of the Cicero fire department's EONE Cyclone II Tower Ladder. This image showcases the impressive design and functionality of the vehicle, standing tall against the clear blue sky. Adjacent to it lies another gem in the form of the 2009 EONE HP100 Tillered Aerial, known locally as Cicero Truck 2. The photo, captured by Steve Redick, highlights the unique features of this state-of-the-art apparatus. In addition to these vehicles, the photographers also managed to capture an interesting group portrait of the team itself. The image, taken by Chief Larry Meyer, features the fire-buff photographers alongside Stickney Truck 1204. Standing from left to right are Hank Sajovic, Larry Shapiro, Don Feipel, Bill Friedrich, Jeff Schielkie, George Reichart, and Steve Redick. Their camaraderie and passion for firefighting shine through in this candid moment. This collection of photos not only updates the visual records of Cicero Station 3 but also pays tribute to the dedicated individuals who contribute to the community’s safety. It’s inspiring to see such dedication combined with a love for photography, resulting in these vibrant images that capture both the machinery and the people behind it all.
