We’ve recently added two new fire departments to the site, though neither is fully operational just yet. In Division 3, Prospect Heights boasts two stations. Station 39 is now fully set up, while Station 9 currently features one out of its seven vehicles. The remaining rigs are expected to be added by the end of this week.
In Division 4, Buffalo Grove also includes three stations. However, the rig postings for these stations are still underway, and some data requires updates to ensure accuracy. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to refine these details.
A big thank you goes out to Karl Klotz, who generously contributed a significant portion of Division 19 for processing and upload. Given that Division 19 doesn’t even have a dedicated MABAS page on our site yet, this process will take several days. As with previous updates, initial entries may contain gaps, which will be filled in as time allows.
Hank Sajovic has also been incredibly supportive by submitting 115 images of CFD firehouses. Preparing these for upload will require several days of effort. Out of these, approximately 10 to 15 images need updates due to changes since their original photography. Hank plans to address these before summer wraps up. Speaking of Hank’s extensive collection of Chicago firehouse photos, he’s working on an exciting upcoming book—details to come later!
As users of this site, please bear in mind that we're still in the early stages of development, which could take a minimum of six months. For now, we’ll share the images we have, understanding that some may eventually be replaced with higher-quality versions. For instance, certain rigs might only show the officer’s side (not the standard view) or capture them in action during incidents. Some stations may have been photographed under challenging conditions, prompting photographers to seek improvements. Our goal is to showcase departments as comprehensively as possible using the resources at hand. Updates featuring better lighting or angles will be made as soon as feasible, with proper acknowledgment.
Most of the stations in Division 3 have undergone recent photo shoots and should be uploaded shortly, depending on our schedule. We encourage readers to reach out with information regarding apparatus on order or recently acquired to help us stay current.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement!
