We're excited to share that two new fire departments have been added to our site, though neither is fully complete just yet. In Division 3, Prospect Heights now features two stations. This division doesn’t even have a MABAS page on our site yet, so it will take some time—several days—to get everything in place. Hank Sajovic deserves special mention for generously providing 115 images of CFD firehouses. Preparing these images for posting will also take a few days. Hank mentioned that around 10-15 photos need minor adjustments since they were originally taken, but he plans to address those before summer ends. By the way, if you're a fan of Hank’s extensive collection of Chicago firehouse photography, he’s working on an exciting project—a book that’s set to release sometime in the future.
As always, we want to remind our visitors that we're still in the early stages of building out this site, which will take at least six months. For now, we're sharing the images we currently have, knowing that some may eventually be updated or replaced with higher-quality versions. For instance, apparatus photos might show the officer’s side (not the standard view), or they could capture rigs at incidents. Similarly, station images might reflect less-than-ideal conditions due to weather or other factors. Our goal is to showcase each department to the best of our current abilities. On another note, many of the stations in Division 3 have been recently photographed and will likely be added to the site this week, depending on how things progress.
