This message is from Sam Borcia:
The Countryside Fire Department was initially called to investigate smoke inside a townhouse at 821 Faulkner Place in Vernon Hills on Sunday, July 20, 2014, around 8:40 PM. The situation quickly escalated into an active fire, and a Box Alarm was soon issued. I’ve attached some photos from the scene.
Thanks, Sam Borcia.

Later that night, around 1:40 AM, while one engine, investigators, and the shift commander were still on scene, they noticed smoke coming from the adjacent unit. A full still alarm response was sent, and the fire was found in a void space between the two units. Highwood Truck 37, which had just finished their shift, responded to the roof after setting up their aerial ladder.
Fire crews were finally released around 3:00 AM.

It was a tough call, but the teams worked hard to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Thanks again to Sam and Larry for sharing these powerful visuals.
